Pine Tree Chapter Partners with Caribou Performing Arts Center to Raise Local Disaster Relief Funds for The County
People who purchase season tickets for the Caribou Performing Arts Center (CPAC) in August and September will be helping the Pine Tree Chapter’s Aroostook County Branch local disaster relief fund. Ten percent of the discounted season ticket price for any five of the year’s eight performing events, plus a bonus UMPI event, will go to the fund.
County Branch manager Joyce Knorr says “We are very pleased to benefit from the the CPAC's efforts. This means that County giving helps County residents whenever there is a house fire, flood, storm or other local disaster. We are grateful to the Caribou Performing Arts Center, and to all the people who combine their season-long enjoyment with support of the local Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross."
According to CPAC director Joe Zubrick, “Building Community” is this season’s theme for the mostly-Maine-artist shows. “We are offering 10% of the season ticket revenues as a gesture of support to the efforts of the Red Cross.” Season ticket subscribers can also contribute additional amounts to the Aroostook County Branch for its emergency response programs in The County. “It’s our hope that subscribers might add five or ten dollars to the price of their purchase to pass on to the local Red Cross,” Zubrick says. Season tickets include a special offer of an additional show from UMPI’s event lineup at no extra cost, so the net effect is to get six shows for the price of four. According to Joe Zubrick, “We’re partnering with the UMPI Cultural Affairs office to make more events available to County residents.”
CPAC season tickets are $60 for adults, $50 for people ages 60 and older, and $40 for teachers. Call 493-4278 to order tickets or for more information.
